Individuals from many walks of life make up the Calgary Civic Symphony Orchestra, but we all have at least one thing in common: we are amateur musicians in the original sense of the word. Amateur is derived from the Latin term amātor, which describes an enthusiastic admirer/pursuer, devotee, or lover. We are, all of us, lovers of music and ardent in our pursuit of it.
