Between Saturday March 6 and Sunday March 7, thirty young musicians performed their hearts out (with masks on) at Michael Lipnicki Fine Pianos. Conducted in a socially distanced manner (with masks and sanitation etc....) this year's Rotary Calgary Concerto Competition (RC3) provided the focus and grounding these young musicians needed to make it through this pandemic year.
So many parents and music teachers expressed their gratitude for being able to support and encourage their child/student to continue practicing and reach the goal of performing a very difficult work of music by heart.
These students (18 years and younger) go to school, participate in extra curricular activities and dedicate many hours every week to their craft. Many of these kids started their instrument when they were only 4 or 5 years old. Now that's dedication!
